1848 Revolutions Movie
1848 saw one of the widest and most deadly revolutionary waves ever recorded. Starting in France, the revolutions later expanded to the rest of Europe, reaching a threating climax before being crushed one by one. Though unsuccessful, the revolutions of 1848 made the world change so drastically that Alexis de Tocqueville chose to name the moment ”The Spring of Nations.”
The movie centers especially on the revolutions in Hungary, then part of the Habsburg Empire. As the twilight of the revolution approaches and success seems unimaginable, the legendary bandit and insurgent Rózsa Sándor prepares a last attempt to make the revolutionaries victorious. Only the wise, tough and persistent Vencel Farkas will manage to pose a threat to Sándor’s plans.
