Hi Bristy, glad you liked the stories! Sibiu is beautiful - and so is the rest of Transylvania. I had a good time and this was no more than just an anecdote - and we travelers live from anecdotes like this one =)

Mario, I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune. But I must admit it cracked me up. I simply couldn't stop laughing and the same with the stories in Brazil. I'm actually originally from Romania so I can definitely relate to some of the narrations. I am happy to hear you're alive because I know how dangerous some of those areas are.
And I am sure you loved Sibiu, it's a gorgeous city.

this post reminds me of my experience of catching trains in Italy. I missed a train three times because the fucking ticket/validation machines didn't work. One time I was fined for not validating the ticket when I could not find a single machine in sight! Believe me, you'd better have 30 minutes for securing the ticket before boarding the train the Italy. I didn't need the aggravation, but it led me to meet some very nice Italians who helped me catch the train when I was feeling hopeless. One time in Ventimiglia, I failed to buy a ticket and catch the train because the machines didn't work, and there's a LONG line at the ticket counter. Just when I thought I had to be stranded in the boring town for an hour, a nice old Italian came to my rescue and told me not to cry. He pointed to me there's actually another train I can take to Genova, and he was right. I will always remember his kindness!

Well, if you're coming to Székelyland (glad you know the name:D), I'd be glad if we could meet. I live in Kézdivásárhely (romanian name is Targu Secuiesc), so if you're anywhere close I can possibly pick you up ;)

Take care! :D
